At present there are five locally listed buildings in or near the Lea Bridge area. This is surprisingly few.
Prior to 2012, the Lea Bridge area contained no locally listed buldings within the boundary of the London Borough of Hackney (LBH), with only two within the London Borough of Waltham Forest (LBWF).
LBWF added the Octagonal Sluice Building to the local list in early 2013.
LBH conducted a Borough-wide review of listed buildings in 2012 in partnership with the Hackney Society and English Heritage. This comprised a Borough-wide review/survey, alongside an innovative process of public nominations. Only one building in or near Lea Bridge was included in the revised list; the boat house at Spring Hill.
English Heritage, in their report rejecting the Lea Bridge Waterworks for national listing, confirm that local protection would be justified, either by the designation of one or more conservation areas or the local listing of individual buildings.
